Preposterous Claim

SIR: I would like to take issue with a news report published in your esteemed newspaper (Herald, May 9) through the courtesy of the Los Angeles Times, alleging that Pakistan passed on to China US Stinger missiles provided for the Afghan Mujahideen.

The claim made by the sources of the report is absolutely preposterous and smacks of ulterior motives. The fabrication is therefore categorically rejected and denied.
